The Effects of Media on Children.

Media is an amazing source of information for adults as well as children. This could be positive and negative to children.


Positive effects of media on children.

First, media provides children with knowledge at an early age. 

For example, TV channels like National Geographic, Discovery and History educate children.

Secondly, media can inspire children to be better and dream bigger. 





For example, The Dot by Peter Reynolds, Grace for President by Kelly DiPucchio, and Odd Velvet by Mary Whitcomb.

Lastly, media like games help children develop their focus and thinking abilities. 

For example, temple run and riddle games

Negative Effects of Media on Children
 

First, media exposes children to violence, sexual and substance abuse contents. 

For example, cartoons like oggy and the cockroaches.

Secondly, media can affect the health of children. 

For example, advertisements influence children to consume unhealthy products such as Coca-Cola, Pizza and Junk food.

Lastly, media facilitates laziness amongst children. 

For example, by being entertained in the house through TV, games, internet and etc, children don't often go outside to play or be active.

In conclusion, media can have a positive and negative effect on children and its parent's responsibility to make sure that children don't get negatively influenced by media and use media in the right way.
