The Difference Between Print and Broadcast Media

Print and Broadcast Media:The Difference

Print Media and Broadcast Media are two different ways of getting information from one end to another. As they are different, they have differences. First, let's talk about print media. Print media is basically media that is printed on paper and its materials are physical. For example, books, magazines, newspapers, flyers, newsletters, scholarly journals, outdoor ads, yellow pages and many more. Printed media is also the oldest form of media.

Moving on, Broadcast media is a new form of media. Broadcast media involves spreading information through T.V and Radio.

Now, onto the topic, what are the differences between print and broadcast media?
Well, Print media provides information more in-depth compared to broadcast media. For example, advertisements on print media such as magazines have more information to them whereas, in broadcast media, they provide summarized information on a certain product/service because they have a time limit.

Moreover, print media reaches through visual medium only. Whereas, broadcast media reaches their audience through visual and audiovisuals.

Another difference between print media and broadcast media is that print media has better audience control than broadcast media. For example, readers of magazines can skip the pages they don't want to read whereas, the viewers/listeners of broadcast media cannot skip the ads they don't want to hear/watch. Besides that, print media turns out to be a more affordable resort to people in poverty. Because people in poverty may not be able to afford a television or radio.

Lastly, another difference between print and broadcast media is that new that are broadcasted can be more interesting than the news that is read in the newspaper as broadcasted new include live video footage and audio clips whereas, printed media isn't as fast.

That's all on the differences between printed and broadcast media.
